This pattern collection contains eight complete patterns of ...
The Enchanted Garden
There are elves at the bottom of my garden
and here are just three of them! They are traced in sepia ink, which
gives a much softer outline than black, then coloured on the reverse
of the parchment with blendable pencils. Now three fairies have joined
them, this time traced in black ink. Alternatively you can use a fine drawing
pen (if you are looking for a new pen, I recommend the Unipin Fine Line from the
Mitsubishi Pencil Company, with a line width of 0.05) ...
- You'll find this little elf sitting comfortably on a mushroom amongst the
long grass. This design has two borders made with the semi-circle
perforating tool and then cut out - but you could always perforate over the
pattern if you don't have this particular tool.
- This magic friend is playing amongst the daisies which tower above him.
This time the simple borders are perforated in the PCA bold square grid -
but again you could easily just perforate over the pattern.
- Amongst the blossom you will find this elf. As with the other two designs, the embossing is done first, then blendable pencils are used on
the reverse of the parchment - the colour shows through where there is no
embossing.
- The 'Blackberry' fairy design has a curved border using the semi-square
tool. The picture is first coloured on the reverse with blendable pencils
and then the darker areas are added on the front, also with pencils. A
bonus, this pattern includes a print-out of the full instructions for Judith's
favourite method for colouring with pencils.
- The border of the 'Cyclamen' fairy card is made using the semi-circle
tool, which is then embossed with a small ball or stylus tool. A bonus, this
pattern includes a print-out of the full instructions for Judith's
favourite method for colouring with pencils.
- The border of the 'Bluebell' fairy design is once again making use of the
semi-circle tool, plus the star or sun tool to make a different border. A
bonus, this pattern includes a print-out of the full instructions for Judith's
favourite method for colouring with pencils.
- The Crocus fairy is traced with a fine black drawing pen.
Most of the colouring on the reverse with blendable pencils.
There is a little embossing on the folds of the dress.
Star tools are used to make the decorative border.
- This cute elf is happy sitting amongst the honeysuckle.
He is traced with sepia pen, or thought you could use a fine black
drawing pen if you prefer. The colouring is done on the reverse with blendable pencil.
The semi-circle and star tools are used in
the decorative border.
