These designs feature whitework, with the occasional little
touch of colour on the reverse, achieved with blendable pencils.
'Cut-glass vase' With this classically-shaped vase
patterns, I have tried to give the impression of transparency, The simple
border down one side of the picture uses the PCA bold diagonal grid. The
border around the card is made with the Pergamono semi-square and
'Convolvulus' A very traditional flower design. The
border uses the semi-circle and heart tools.
'Blackberries'. I have a very soft spot for this design
as it is based on one of the first I ever had published. There is now a new
border on this design.
previously published in the Parchment Craft Magazine. The original was
traced with white ink, but you could use white pencil and then go over the
outlines with a very small ball tool. The grids in the border are made with
the PCA bold diagonal grid.
'Birthday Book' is traced with white pencil and
then embossed with a small ball tool.. The tiny flowers in the border could
either be traced and then embossed, or you could emboss through a Siesta
grid which has a tiny flower.
'Sweet and Simple' is just what this is! The almond
tool and the star or sun tool are used in the double frame which surrounds a
simple flower with some basic embossing.
'Daisy Chain' A slightly larger design measuring approx 13cm x 16.5cm. Traced with
white pencil and then embossed, the design includes wording traced with a
sepia pen. There is no colour
on this card. The border is perforated on a PCA bold straight grid and then
'Whitework Dove' Before embossing, a little colour is
added on the reverse of the parchment with mauve pencil or dorso crayon. The
border is made with the semi-square tool and as a finishing touch, add
glitter on the bird, leave and flowers with a glitter gel pen or brush,
smoothing it over the parchment with your finger.
useful design for practising tracing with white ink.
The border is perforated with the flower-tool, and each perforation
is then cut into a star.
'Flying around in Circles' Another design traced with white ink, it features the moon, almond,
semi-square and four-needle tools.
'Swan Vase' This design features an unusual border made
with the semi-circle tool. The swan is pure whitework with a little colour
on the flower and leaves, added on the reverse of the parchment.
'Telephone' A border of tulips decorated with stick-on
jewels surrounds this retro telephone. The perforated edge pattern is made
with the semi-circle and star tools.
