In our Classic Collections you will find a mix of patterns from over the years, here are some hints for working with some of our older patterns: Some of our early patterns used a sheet of folded parchment with a border on three sides. If you want to economise by using half a sheet, continue the border on all four sides and attach to the backing card with a brad in each corner. We usually added the colour into our patterns with Oil Pastels, smoothed out with a blending medium such as Dorso Oil, ZestIt or white spirit, but with our newer patterns we use Polychromos Pencils. Both methods give excellent results. Instead of using grids, many of our early patterns created lacework with perforating tools. You will find the lace design printed on the pattern so you just need to carefully perferate over the top. An alternative would be to substitute a grid pattern from another design. We hope you enjoy working with the 'golden oldies' from our Classic Collections.
